Polka…bigger than the cabbage patch, macarena and the solider boy combined

POLKA!… a couple of my favorites for the polka festival at the Mitchell corn palace this past weekend.  It was a blast, and I couldn’t believe the amount of people and costumes out on the dance floor.

Sadly, the average age of those attending this event was well over 65 so I fear the polka may be slowly fading out. To remedy this I encourage young people of legal drinking age to check out Bockfest in New Ulm Minnesota.   (http://www.schellsbrewery.com/newsevents_info.php?id=21) It is a day filled with Polka Music, Beer Drinking, and tons of interesting and fun people. (p.s. dress warm) It’s almost impossible to walk away from this event with out an appreciation polka, and humming “in heaven there is no beer”
